En defensa de O Brother Where Art Thou?


Ese disco logro la fama que tuvo no solo por la pelicula (que me encanto y me rei demasiado) sino que a pesar de que ese disco no tenia *nada* de promocion ni empuje de la radio (para el tiempo que salio vivia en Nashville, capital del country y ramas anexas y solo la estacion publica lo toco) y de repente word of mouth hizo que ese disco llegara a donde llego. La radio ignoro este disco y la radio country aun mas hasta que el auge y el 'buzz' del disco fueron suficientes para hacerlo un exito en ventas y revivio el interes en el bluegrass. Prueba fehaciente de que a veces a little success it's not a bad thing.

The good: Canada's cyber-metal stalwarts Voivod are laying down demos for their next LP, according to a post on Jason Newsted's Chophouse Records Web site, and it's set to be recorded in Northern California later this year. Featuring Newsted on bass alongside drummer Michel "Away" Langevin and guitarist Denis "Piggy" D'Amour, the album will be Voivod's first recorded work with original vocalist Denis "Snake" Belanger in 11 years. ... Guns N' Roses have been booked for a show in Hong Kong on August 14 at the Summer Sonic festival. If they actually pull it off, the tour will continue August 17 and 18 in Tokyo and Osaka; August 23 in Leeds, England; August 24 in Hasselt, Belgium; and wrap up August 26 in London. ...A collector's edition of the triple platinum "Pulp Fiction" soundtrack will be released August 20 to coincide with the release of the 1994 classic on DVD. The Bad: DJ Sammy, who has scored a huge dance hit with a remake of Bryan Adams' "Heaven," will release his debut album, also titled Heaven, August 6.
